A retrospective selection of video art highlighting LBMA's international dialogue.

Exchange and Evolution: Worldwide Video Long Beach examines and highlights key moments from the video program at the Long Beach Museum of Art between 1974 and 1999, and organizations and individuals who collaborated with the Museum. Some thirty international artists whose work was exhibited at LBMA during this time will be on view, and programmed are four screening events that celebrate the LBMA video studio and honors its Videonights. Street of Heaven by Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak @ WORKshop* for the exhibition STITCHES SUZHOU FAST FORWARD

We have created an embroidered banner comprised of six 1’ x 1’ panels depicting the impressive topography of this landmark arterial road. The work is based on satellite images of the entire stretch of Yonge Street, showing the dense cityscape of the city proper (depicted through shades of blue/grey) giving way to countryside (depicted in shades of green), with the street itself embroidered in gold thread....
